Meridian Brothers are ready to bring their mischievous blend of Latin rhythms and psychedelic grooves to the UK for the first time. Straddling the line between new and old, Meridian Brothers is the creation of Eblis Álvarez, one of the key figures of the experimental music scene in Bogota. A true avant-garde guitar player and composer he also plays in Mario Galeano’s band Frente Cumbiero and was one of the 42 musicians involved in the recording of Ondatrópica. In September 2012 Soundway Records released his album ‘Desperanza’ that features ‘Guaracha U.F.O’, recently selected by Gilles Peterson as his #1 track of 2012.

Chancha via Circuito is part of the ZZK collective from Buenos Aires. Filtering folkloric rhythms through modern production, Chancha has taken cumbia into uncharted territory and won international acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, New York Times and NPR. Chancha developed his singular craft playing for crowds at Zizek Club in Buenos Aires and on tour DJing across the US, Canada and Mexico.

Opening the night will be El G, co founder of ZZK Records and the Zizek club in Buenos Aires. El G continues to evolve bringing new sounds of digital cumbia, electro-reggaeton and Andean folklorico among other sound mutations to the decks.
