Now here’s something you don’t see everyday… a live soundclash between the ex-Albanian army band Fanfara Tirana and London’s masters of the Transglobal Underground. Expect twenty musicians, extreme brass and beats and no outright winner.  Fanfara Tirana first met Transglobal Underground to make Kabatronics the album released to universal acclaim earlier this year.  This is their live UK debut.

“A collision of street-level London with Albanian patriotic marches is a cross-cultural riot” The Times

“A magic carpet ride between London and Tirana.” Rolling Stone

“There’s a real vitality and immediacy to the meaty beats, crunching tubas and mercurial clarinets that speak lucidly of both past and present.” The Independent

“A highly entertaining clash of Albanian brass and beats, with unexpected echoes of India or the Caribbean added in.” The Guardian

“The irresistible draw here is Albania’s amazing brass band Fanfara Tirana, an 11-strong musical force of real magic. Fanfara Tirana could stun a badger at

50 paces. Otherworldly sound of pealing clarinets over flugelhorn, saxes and trumpets, and the strangeness of their rough, gruff harmony vocals. Kabatronics is a winner.” Songlines
