Carlos Vives, the first Colombian artist to win a Grammy – and with a further Grammy and nine Latin Grammys – is a pioneer of Colombian popular music and one of the most important figures in Latin Music. With more than thirty million records sold, Vives performance career dates back to the nineteen eighties when his reinvention of traditional cumbia and vallenato musical styles found a huge popular audience.

Three years ago his career took a new vitality with the release of the album Corazon Profundo and a live extended version Mas + Corazon Profundo. Between them these records have generated six number one tracks on the Billboard Latin Airplay Charts with hits like Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar featuring Marc Anthony, Bailar Contigo, El Mar De Sus Ojos and Volvi a Nacer which became an anthem in Latin America dominating radio charts in Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Central America and Colombia.

In 2015 his live shows in the US put him amongst the top ten grossing live artists alongside Taylor Swift and One Direction. Carlos Vives Corazon Profundo tour in Colombia was the most successful tour in that country’s history playing to 200,000 people in five shows.

Carlos Vives is preceded onstage by a short opening set from Bostich & Fussible, a musical ensemble formed in Tijuana, Mexico. Their sound mixes electronica with elements and instrumentation of Tambora and Norteño music, resulting in the nortec (“norteño” + “techno”) style. This year Bostich & Fussible produced the music for the latest Cirque Du Soleil show Luzia.
