One of the most famous and successful Chilean musicians over the past ten years, revolutionary cult electropop artist dance-pop chanteuse Javiera Mena plays an exclusive London gig to celebrate the release of her new album.
Part of what’s been called the Chilean new wave, Javiera delivers infectious synth-pop hits since debuting with Esquemas juveniles (2006), and the stand out album Mena (2010).
Javiera’s first officially published song was Sol de Invierno, which was included in the 2005 compilation album Panorama Neutral. Shortly after, another song, Cámara Lenta, was included in the soundtrack of Alberto Fuguet’s movie Se arrienda.
Breaking boundaries with both her sound and aesthetic, her career has attracted critical acclaim, including a Latin Grammy nomination in 2015, and she has become an essential name at festivals across Latin America and the USA.
Her commentary on politics and LGBT/ Latin history has also increased her iconic status.
