Seu Jorge returns to Brighton Dome for an evening of intense urban samba and big-band Brazilian funk.

Seu Jorge was the subject of a recent ITV South Bank Show, which told his extraordinary story from favela street kid to starring roles in the internationally acclaimed City of God and Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, for which Jorge famously put a bossa nova spin on the David Bowie songbook.

A welcome return to the silver screen in Brit-flick crime caper The Escapist coincides with a brand-new Seu Jorge album América Brasil, an infectious mix of blues-tinged bossa and exuberant samba funk.

Catch ‘the coolest man on the planet’ (The Times) in action as Seu Jorge and his seven-piece Brazilian band bring a little bit of Río live to the south coast.

Glorious funked up samba anthems and sultry bossa nova.’
